CommUNITY Day of Service
Lubbock's 26th Annual CommUNITY Day of Service, to be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, was announced by eLos Hermanos Familia.
The 2026 year's theme, "Service Above Self," will showcase a tribute to our commitment to the environment and community engagement, and working together.
"This day of service is significant because we are serving our community, as well as in a clean environment.
All are invited to join the community and student organizations, and many individuals are committed to the quality of life for migrant and farmworkers, and non-violent action.
LHF is encouraging Veterans, church groups, non-profits, students of all ages, and the general public of all backgrounds.
The event is organized by a citizen-driven committee that is committed to a day of service in preparation for Earth Day.
WHAT:
CommUNITY Day of Service.
2026 Theme: Service Above Self
WHO: Los Hermanos Familia will hold the CommUNITY Day of Service in Partnership with the Volunteer Center of Lubbock, TXDOT Adopt-A-Highway, and Keep Lubbock Beautiful.
WHEN:
10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The clean-up event will begin immediately following
WHERE:
The clean-up event will begin on Clovis Hwy between University and Indiana (a 2-mile stretch). Participants are urged to park at the Matthews Learning Center.
ETC:
The public is encouraged to wear sunscreen, wear comfortable shoes, and wear hats. Groups are encouraged to bring their banners and wear their organization's t-shirts.
Those participating in the CommUNITY Day of Service are urged to bring gloves and wear closed-toed shoes.
