Bilingual Financial Literacy Workshop
Los Hermanos Familia invites individuals and families who need guidance to build confidence and understanding of their personal finances to join this (4) part series. In partnership with local companies, we hold a workshop series that improves your financial security in English and Spanish in April!
The next workshop series is scheduled for Tuesdays in April 2024.

The common goals of our Día observance are to:

Celebrate children and connect them to the world of learning through books, stories, and libraries.

Recognize and respect the culture, heritage, and language as powerful tools for strengthening families and communities.
Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros observance is on April 30, 2024.
Cinco de Mayo Parade
Los Hermanos Familia welcomed about 110 floats and participants (triple since 2014), and drew a crowd of almost 7,000 on historic Broadway! This promotes cultural awareness, and art, and engages the community.
LHF's 12th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade of Lubbock will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The 2024 theme is: Pending
Vamos a Pescar, Let's Go Fishing
Los Hermanos Familia fulfilled the last request to go fishing with family from an area farmer. After a bypass, he said to his son and daughter-in-law, "Let's Go Fishing, Vamos a Pescar." He died the next morning but his request to bring the family together lives on.
The 2023 14th Annual event will be even more exciting and even more appreciated. So gather the family and let's go fishing! Vamos a pescar!
The is a FREE fishing event with no fishing license required that will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, and from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
West Texas Latino Artist Show & Día de los Muertos Celebración
Los Hermanos Familia believes that cultural awareness through art helps to build confidence and understanding of culture. This year because of COVID-19, we've adjusted our plans and hope you will join us! TBA
Hispanic Heritage Month CommUNITY Partner Reception
This reception is a collaborative reception that includes Los Hermanos Familia, Raiders Rojos, the Hispanic Association of Women, and the Lubbock Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Collectively, the organizations are holding the mixer to network. Entertainment will showcase local talent, as well as present the Hispanic Heritage Month Flags.

Veterans Day Parade
The Veterans Day Parade is an event designed to pay tribute to ALL veterans and all who have served in Lubbock. We appeal to families and bring the community and region together. The first Lubbock Veterans Day Parade was first held in Lubbock, Texas in 2015. Please consider joining us at our next parade!
The 8th Annual Veterans Parade will be held on November 11, 2023, register your float, team, school, band, and organization now!
Veteran's Day Project
Because of the pandemic, Los Hermanos Familia has temporarily replaced The Veteran's Reception with projects to recognize these men and women. Last year, we held the "A Proud Veteran Lives Here" Sign project. This year, we will be holding the Operation FlyBy Flag Project. Veterans will receive a military branch flag.

Charity Golf Tournament by LHF
Los Hermanos Familia will be holding its 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on TBA!

Latinas for a Cure Lubbock is committed to building awareness about good health and a quality way of life. With our partners, Latino Lubbock Magazine, and Los Hermanos Familia we hold events to allow us to gather, share, get involved, support, and have a great time! Moreso, remind other women to be aware of Breast Cancer & Heart Disease.

Digital Library Read to Lead, Read to Grow!
Los Hermanos Familia is committed to literacy. That said, to assure that all students have access to reading material, a partnership between Los Hermanos Familia, MyOn, and Latino Lubbock Magazine, offers students K -12 access to over 7,000 digital books in their FREE DIGITAL LIBRARY!
The goal is to help students sustain and even improve their reading skills using daily technology like tablets, PCs, cellphones, etc. READ NOW!
"Read to Lead, Read to Grow" Little Libraries
Visit Los Hermanos Familia's Little Library and take a book, leave a book!
Our Little Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. The goal is to help children have access to books despite access to technology, and complement public library services, and increase access to books in neighborhoods far from public libraries and in low socioeconomic neighborhoods.
Warm Hearts Program
In Lubbock, one out of every 5.1 residents lives in poverty. Los Hermanos Familia recognizes the growing poverty rate - in the state of Texas -16 %, and in Lubbock - 19.8%, indicating that Lubbock has a higher than average percentage of residents below the poverty line when compared to the rest of Texas.
As such, Los Hermanos Familia with its community partners and volunteers annually will identify areas of need and offer hope and a warm heart by answering the call. Donate Today
FORE Women Golf Tournament by LHF
Los Hermanos Familia is proud to hold its FORE Women Golf Tournament on Rescheduled tentatively in February 2024!
A friendly tournament promoting breast cancer awareness encouraging women and men to participate and enjoy a game of golf and support a great cause! Make plans and join us! TBA
22nd Annual César E. Chávez People’s March and Day of Service
Drop off car at N. University and César E. Chávez Drive in Lubbock, Texas at Canyon Lakes/Buddy Holly Recreational Area (Shuttle service will begin at 12:30 p.m. from l (Drop spot for cars) to Cavazos Middle School parking lot, 210 N. University Ave. (Starting point of the march), the march will end at Buddy Holly Lake, followed by the inaugural Day of Service. 2024 Theme: TBA

Mini Pinewood Derby
The Mini Pinewood Derby's 2024 is now being planned. The objective of this project falls in line with part of LHF’s mission of promoting family engagement and encouraging awareness about social issues like STEM. We combine building mini derby cars, engineering, STEM awareness, and how college is necessary to obtain a STEM career. All that in one event, and, IT'S FUN!

LHF recognizes that there are numerous benefits that can be realized through outdoor fitness equipment including physical health, mental health, social function, youth development, environmental and economic impacts.
The equipment was designed to fit seamlessly into space which is near other park elements such as the walking track or path like the one surrounding Buddy Holly Lake, at North University and Cesar E. Chavez Drive. In this case, the equipment is lakeside, by a cluster of trees. We hope that you will make time to experience our commitment to your good health. For all ages, and, it's FREE!
