Join the 9th Annual Lubbock Veteran’s Day Parade an event, designed to pay tribute to veterans and all that have served in Lubbock. Veteran's Day is November 11 in all states and is usually observed as a state holiday and a federal holiday. This event is for veterans and their families and the city of Lubbock, to bring the community and region together. SAVE THE DATE - The parade will occur on November 9, 2024.
The 2024 theme is: "I Pledge Allegiance" - celebrate our American flag and the Pledge of Allegiance! Raise your American and branch flags and showcase your organization and family's many generations of service to our country!
The 2024 Grand Marshall: Lubbock Fire Chief Shaun Fogerson - Chief Fogerson joined Lubbock Fire Rescue in 1992 and achieved his current rank, Deputy Chief - Operations, in October 2015. Fogerson holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University, a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advanced Firefighter Certification, and is currently participating in the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran and holds several commendations for service from Lubbock Fire Rescue, including the Medal of Valor. Fogerson was also named the Lubbock Area United Way 2017 Campaign Volunteer of the Year. He is the 10th Chief for Lubbock Fire Rescue.
2024 Parade Date: November 9, 2024. Set up 8:30 a.m. Start-Up at 10 a.m. - SAVE THE DATE
(Participant set up time from 8 to 9:30 a.m., and then the parade will begin at 10 a.m.)
Parade Location: The parade will start at the East parking lot of First Baptist Church at Broadway; participants are urged to enter through Avenue V. The route will begin off Avenue U, to Broadway, heading East down Broadway, and then North on Avenue M to the Civic Center Parking lot.
